About Xin

My name is Xin, I was born in China, moved to the UK as a child in the 90s and now live in London for the past 20 years. I have trained in a few external styles of martial arts in the past but stumbled into Taichi in 2016 and have not looked back. I have been extremely fortuitous to be able to train under Master Ding who is the 6th generation under the Yang Sau Chung lineage. Master Ding has many branches all over Europe and he is known to really embody Taichi and its principles.
The art is not easy to put into words, when you mention taichi people think of the slow movements in the park, but it has deeper roots as a martial art. Taichi works with Energy, or Qi, Qigong helps you to gather and centre your Qi, the form begins to circulate Qi and finally you need to work with other people to test and apply Qi. The process settles your mind and joins your body, moving as one. Over time you discover the art is incredibly deep and leads to a lifelong journey of self-discovery.

About the lesson

My lessons follow a broad structure to how it is traditionally taught at my school, but it is also flexible to suit the individual. A typical class is anywhere between 60-90 min and covers qigong, Daoist core exercises, taichi short form and long form, as well as more advanced training methods.
My own training started in 2016. Over the years I have accumulated nearly 7000 hrs of training, workshops, retreats.
I have taught everyone from my 8-year-old daughter to people curious about internal martial arts that have experience in other disciplines, to elderly people who want to develop better balance and strength. Everyone can benefit from taichi! There are no prerequisites and approach with an open mind.
