• Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

  My first time using a computer I got to play Sim City, I picked it up fairly quickly too. This planted the seeds for my career that cities and buildings could be designed on a computer as opposed to drawing them by hand. The rest is history as I got more and more passionate about how computers can help people design the built environment which led me to study architecture and subsequently all the software that goes along with it including Autodesk Revit.

• What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?

  Learning and practicing architecture at a time when the industry was switching to technology has been a blessing in my career. The timing of this gave me extra motivation to dive deeper and pursue further learning in topics such as programming, BIM (Building Information Modelling), and beyond.

• Explain your expertise, your interest in it, and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.

  My expertise is in digital design/delivery in the construction industry which feeds directly into my passion for architecture. As technology becomes advanced and faster, I believe that teaching professionals to become skilled in computer software such as Revit will benefit the architecture and construction industry.

• Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?

  I am inspired by those who push the boundaries, in my own industry, it's visionaries like Antoni Gaudi, a Spanish Architect, who designed in accordance with nature and used unconventional yet technologically advanced methods to make his architecture structurally sound.

• What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?

  I would say that it's okay and totally normal to feel overwhelmed by IT however I would also emphasize that a computer is no different to learning how to ride a bike or driving a car. You don't just immediately know how to do it, but with practice, you can achieve anything.

• What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?

  My other passions are Gymnastics, Illustrations, Muay Thai, Hiking, Drone Photography, Gardening, and Gaming.
