About Joe
Hello! I’m Joe, an aviation professional with a passion for both the academic and practical sides of the industry. I hold a Master’s degree from the University of Bath and a Bachelor’s in Aviation Management, giving me strong grounding in airline operations, air traffic management, aviation strategy, and the wider regulatory and economic environment that shapes the sector.
Alongside my academic background, I’ve worked in aviation consultancy, contributing to projects across operations, regulation, air traffic management, and analytical studies. This experience allows me to bring real-world insight into every lesson, helping students understand not just the theory, but how it is applied in modern aviation.
I’m also a qualified solo glider pilot, which adds an important practical dimension to my teaching. Flying has given me hands-on experience with aerodynamics, aircraft performance, weather considerations, and decision-making in a real operational environments- insights I bring into relevant topics when supporting Aviation Management students.
I’m genuinely passionate about helping learners navigate this complex and fascinating industry. My teaching style is supportive, approachable, and highly structured. I enjoy breaking down challenging material into clear, digestible explanations and linking concepts back to real aviation scenarios, news, and operational examples.
Outside tutoring, I stay actively involved in tracking aviation developments, emerging technologies, and industry trends. My goal is to help students not only succeed academically but also build the knowledge, curiosity, and confidence needed for future careers throughout the aviation sector.
If you're studying Aviation Management and want guidance that blends academic expertise, industry experience, and practical flying insight, I’d be delighted to support you.

Teaching Methodology & Techniques
My tutoring approach is based on clarity, structure, and real-world application. Aviation is a highly operational and interconnected industry, so I focus on helping students understand why things work the way they do—not just the theory behind them.
I use a mix of:
Step-by-step explanations for complex operational or management concepts
Real aviation case studies drawn from industry and consultancy experience
Visuals, frameworks, and process charts to simplify technical ideas
Scenario-based learning (e.g., operational decisions, capacity challenges, safety events)
Exam and coursework support, including planning, structuring, and revision techniques
My goal is to create a learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, exploring ideas, and building confidence in their understanding of aviation management.
Typical Lesson Length
Most lessons are 60 minutes, which suits focused learning and consistent progress.
For students working on dissertations, major assignments, or exam preparation, I also offer:
90-minute sessions for deeper work
Shorter 30-minute check-ins when needed
I’m flexible and happy to tailor session length to your needs.
