About Deividas

I have studied a BSc in Psychology at the University of East London. Presently, I am continuing with a Masters of Research in Psychology at Goldsmiths University with career aspirations centered towards the academic world.
Currently I am new to tutoring and excited in putting myself forward for this experience. Nevertheless, I am confident in my abilities to assist students with anything regarding the subject, due to my extensive knowledge of psychology which is driven by my inquisitiveness and a tendency to share my fascination with anyone who will care to listen. I thoroughly enjoy explaining all the intriguing and complex propensities of the mind in simplified terms, graspable narratives and relatable examples. I am fascinated about the knowledge we can obtain from psychological studies and as a tutor I would be grateful to have an opportunity to share with students, perspective expanding views, that the subject of psychology can stimulate for those seeking to expand their critical thinking abilities.

About the lesson

My philosophy is that learning Psychology is exciting, inspiring and appealing when you really understand it, and that learning it can be easy and self-motivating when it is entertaining and relevant, especially when it expands our awareness of our perceptions of the real-world. Therefore, to benefit students’ learning, I would concentrate on facilitating a thorough understanding of key concepts and develop their grasp of applicable knowledge by portraying how they can apply them to real life contexts. I will be promoting students’ learning by encouraging active listening and regularly asking stimulating questions which will require them to use critical thinking skill to process the information, which in turn will consolidate and demonstrate their comprehension by efficiently applying their knowledge. In addition, I will present how psychological research observations can expand our perspectives of the real world with the use of relatable examples. I will help to clarify the formal writing style, marking criteria and research methodologies by supporting students in understanding these approaches in a comprehendible way, tailored to the student’s individual needs. I believe that developing a real personal awareness of psychological concepts, and how they are present in everyday life, is the key to consolidating knowledge and stimulating curiosity.
