About Hillary

I am a freelance English teacher and theatre professional. With a degree in theatre and a TEFL certification, I offer tailored English lessons, with a theatre background. I write, act, and teach both professionally, and for interest. I've taught English through theatre both abroad in Italy, and in
Canada. I now teach online and offer private classes from Canada.

About the lesson

Patient, warm and friendly, enthusiastic and personable, I cater to the student and create unique and individual experiences for each pupil.

My teaching methods are demonstrative, illustrative, and practice-based. I do a lot of role-playing and encourage students to be creative and try without fear. I play a lot of games to help familiarize students with the language and grammar in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. I focus the lesson on individual needs rather than curriculum and work with the student.

There is no such thing as a typical class, but you can expect daily tongue Twisters, a game, a brief explanation of our learning objective, a catered lesson plan, and role-playing.

I cater to children who have trouble expressing themselves and adults who need to boost their confidence and are looking for new forms of expression.
