My ballet classes are based the in the Vaganova methodology, which is used in Russia and has produced some of the most famous ballet dancers in the world including Anna Pavlova, Rudolph Nureyev, Alina Somova, Svetlana Zakharova, and Maria Khoreva. However, I also utilize American pedagogy, and for older students this includes doing pointe during class at barre or center.
I have trained in Classical Ballet for the past 15 years, and I am currently a ballet major at the University of Utah. I have competed in various ballet competitions across the world, including in New York and Tokyo. I received third place in the Senior Classical Division at YAGP and went on to compete as a soloist in the NYC Finals. I also received 1st place in classical and contemporary at the US Prix de Ballet, and was invited to compete in the final round of the Japan Grand Prix IBC. In 2019 in performed the lead in the ballet Paquita, as well as Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker. Throughout my training as a ballet dancer I have also studied contemporary, jazz, improv, and character dance.
