My teaching philosophy is to nurture a student's love for music and develop an expansive technical capability and repertoire from a young age, rather than focusing on yearly exams that leave students with very limited repertoire. I take influence from my own experience, where rather than completing every single AMEB exam level through 1 - 8, my teacher spent time expanding my repertoire until I was ready to take the AmusA and LmusA directly. I find that students locked into regular exams spend an entire year polishing the required exam material, which leaves them with very limited repertoire and technical skills.
Due to my busy performance schedule, I am keeping my studio very small with a very limited amount of student places. This also allows me to be hyper-focused on the development of each and every student.
