About James
I am a retired Superintendent of Schools who taught high school history, and psychology for over twenty years. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Bemidji State University in 1975. Prior to that I served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force. In 1981 I became a member of the Reagan administration serving as Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Education during the Reagan Administration as well as the Special Assistant to the Chairman of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission where I directed Project 2000: an in-depth study of jobs of the future and how we must prepare our children for those jobs. After its publication in 1983 Project 2000 became Labor Force 2000 at the Department of Labor. We know it today as the Jobs Training and Partnership Act. In 1994 I ran for the district one seat of the United States Congress. After losing in the Primary to Joe Scarborough I became his Campaign Chairman and manager. After his victory I returned to the classroom.
