About Luke
I'm Luke, an award-winning scriptwriter and graduate of both the University of East Anglia's world-famous Creative Writing MA and the Royal Court Theatre's Young Writers Programme. My play UNSCORCHED won the Papatango New Writing Prize and had a sell-out run at the Finborough Theatre, as well as earning a four-star review in The Guardian. I currently have two movies in development; one with Liberty Films (who made MOON and WARCRAFT, among others) and one with Third Light Films (who made ABOVE THE CLOUDS). I've been a tutor/visiting lecturer at Central School of Speech and Drama in London since 2020, helping my students turn their ideas into first drafts, and their first drafts into final drafts. Before that I worked in advertising, writing scripts for TV and radio ads.

Being a writer myself, I realise that scriptwriting can be a daunting and difficult process, so I like to give my students as much encouragement as possible to help them get past their self-doubt and get their scripts finished. At the same time, I think it's important to flag up and discuss parts of the project that I feel aren't quite working, but I try to do so as kindly as I can! As well as tutoring online or at my students' homes, I am happy to give lessons in cafés around London. I live on a narrowboat, so unfortunately there's not quite enough space for me to host lessons at my place. Whether you've written ten pages and got stuck, or just don't know where to start - or even if you have a full script you think you need to redraft, I'd be delighted to help.
