About Azaan
I'm a sophomore at The Quarry Lane School with a strong academic record across math, science, and computer science, currently maintaining close to a 3.96 GPA while taking advanced coursework including Calculus AB and AP Physics 1. I've completed AP Computer Science Principles and AP Computer Science A, and I serve as the Software Lead for my school's competitive robotics team, where I write and maintain the code that runs our robot in competition. My programming background extends beyond the classroom: I founded and built an AI-powered coaching app from the ground up, and I won first place at a regional science fair for a computer vision research project, later being recognized as a top finalist in a national science competition. I take tutoring seriously and show up prepared, patient, and genuinely invested in helping students understand the material, not just get through it.

My approach is project-based rather than just working through textbook problems — I try to connect concepts to something concrete, whether that's using real code to illustrate a math idea or walking through how a physics principle actually shows up in something I've built, like robotics software or app development. A typical lesson starts with checking where a student is stuck, working through the underlying concept with examples until it clicks, then applying it to practice problems that build in difficulty, ending with a couple of problems the student works independently while I watch for gaps.
What sets me apart is that I'm not just teaching from a textbook — I've applied this material directly: I've taken AP Computer Science Principles and AP Computer Science A, I'm currently in Calculus AB and AP Physics 1, and I lead software development for a competitive robotics team, so I can show students how these subjects connect to real problems, not just tests.
My lessons are best suited for elementary school through early high school students working on math, science fundamentals, or intro to programming, especially students who want to actually understand the material rather than just memorize steps for a test.
