About Avery
Starting out means we perform a diagnostic skills check before building the lesson plan to ensure we target your exact needs. This process helps us identify if we should focus on improvisation, soloing, chord transitions, or ear training first. Whether you are an absolute beginner or a professional looking to sharpen your acoustic technique, we will bridge the gap between reading tabs and interpreting complex sheet music. My background from the University of Melbourne informs how I break down rhythm guitar and scales for every student.
You will find that my method remains patient as we work through the mechanics of lead guitar together. I aim to keep our time focused on practical application that feels natural to your playing style.

Teaching guitar helps me connect with the community that shaped my musical identity. My hands still remember the feeling of worn strings under hot stage lights from 13 years of gigging across the Australian Latin music scene.
I combine this 11 years of experience with my formal education to guide players through their own musical development.
