I am currently a 4th year student, studying towards a Bachelor of Education’s Degree, and have had practical experience for four years teaching the foundation phase learners. My teaching method is an interactive one in which all learners have the opportunity to participate in the lesson. I base my classes on a collaborative approach in which the learners and teacher can engage in the lessons, as well as I the teacher ensuring that there is discipline in the classroom and order. When I approach a topic to the class, I ensure that I start with a spike of interest, I will ask questions to the learners and provide pictures to get them interested on the topic and then flow through the lesson with great use of resources to stimulate the learners as they learn about a new topic. I make sure the lessons are short and to the point and that the objective has been reached at the end, followed by a consolidation to conclude the lesson.
