About Mary

Hi! This is Mary Ann F. Bolaer, 29 yrs old from Navotas City, Philippines. I finished Bachelor in Elementary Education at Navotas Polytechnic College. I am an NCII holder with a skill in Bread and Pastry Production.
I have a 5 year experience in teaching both online and face to face. I also have a 3 year experience on one on tutoring. I am currently teaching in ALS, it is a program of education for out-of-school youth with different ages and level.
In my experience of teaching, I guess I already mastered making lesson plans and presentation. I can also handle various learners since I am teaching ALS learners. In ALS, I am handling a senior citizen, person with disability, a 12 to 16 year old youth who has no experienced in studying so it's difficult since they all have different needs but I'm glad and confident to share with you that I was able to teach them. I saw progress as long as the learner shows willingness to learn.
Now, I am looking forward to share with you my experiences, knowledge and of course to learn from you for my personal and career growth. Thank you.

About the lesson

I believe that every learner has a unique way of understanding concepts, so I adapt my teaching style to meet each student's needs. I had experience teaching diverse learners with different needs and age level. My lessons are interactive, learner-centered, and focused on building confidence alongside academic skills. I use clear explanations, real-life examples, guided practice, visual aids, and engaging activities to make lessons enjoyable and easy to understand. I also encourage students to ask questions and think critically rather than simply memorizing information.

A Typical Lesson Plan

A typical lesson follows this structure:

Review – Briefly revisit previous lessons to reinforce learning.
Introduction – Present the lesson objectives and explain new concepts using simple, relatable examples.
Guided Practice – Work through activities and exercises together while providing step-by-step guidance.
Independent Practice – Allow students to solve problems or complete tasks on their own to assess understanding.
Feedback and Assessment – Discuss strengths, clarify misconceptions, and provide constructive feedback.
Summary and Assignment – Recap the key points and assign practice activities to reinforce learning.
What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor

What distinguishes me is my patience, adaptability, and commitment to helping students succeed at their own pace. I create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. My lessons are carefully prepared, engaging, and tailored to each learner's goals and learning style. I focus not only on improving academic performance but also on developing confidence, critical thinking, and independent learning skills.
