About Dominic
Hi there! I’m Dominic, and I’m passionate about helping students navigate the complexities of Business Administration and Environmental Science. I hold a Bachelor of Science (Honors) from Trent University, where I had the privilege of being named to both the President’s and Dean’s Honor Rolls. This academic journey taught me that success isn't just about working hard—it’s about finding the right strategy to make difficult concepts click.
I know how overwhelming a heavy course load can feel. My approach is centered on patience and clear communication, ensuring that we don't just find the right answers, but that you truly understand the 'why' behind them. I’m here to share the tools and study habits that helped me thrive at Trent, and I look forward to helping you reach your own academic milestones!

Teaching Methodology
I believe that science and math are best learned through active application rather than passive memorization. My goal is to move beyond the textbook to help you understand the underlying logic of a problem. My approach includes:
The First Principles Method: Breaking down complex concepts (like chemical bonding or mathematical equations) into their simplest parts.
Curriculum-Aligned Coaching: I focus on the Ontario "70/30" grading split, helping students maximize their 70% term marks through better lab reports and consistent quiz prep.
Visual Learning: Using diagrams and real-world scenarios—drawing from my background in Environmental Science—to make abstract ideas tangible.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Every session is tailored to your goals, but a standard 60-minute lesson usually follows this flow:
The Check-In (10 mins): We start with "The Wall"—addressing whatever homework or concept stopped you in your tracks this week.
Concept Deep-Dive (20 mins): Introducing the new topic through interactive explanation and visual aids.
Guided Practice (20 mins): We work through problems together, gradually shifting the "heavy lifting" to you as your confidence grows.
The Sprint (10 mins): You tackle a final challenge solo to prove mastery and build confidence.
What Sets Me Apart
I bring a multidisciplinary edge. With a degree bridging Environmental Science and Business, I don't just teach the math; I show you how it’s used in industry and ecological forecasting. This allows me to answer the "When will I ever use this?" question that frustrates so many students.
Furthermore, having completed A-Levels (the UK equivalent of first-year university rigor), I can offer a higher level of depth for students aiming for competitive university programs while easily adapting to the local Ontario standards.
Who These Lessons Are For
I specialize in supporting students through the high-stakes "University Prep" years:
Grade 11 & 12 (4U/3U): Functions, Advanced Functions, Calculus, Physics, and Chemistry.
Grade 9 & 10: Foundations of Math and General Science.
Grade 8 and below: Building a positive mindset and love for the subject. I additionally offer introductory sessions on electronics, environmental awareness, and logical problem-solving.
Free 30-Minute Consultation: I offer a free introductory session specifically to review your syllabus, identify your "pain points," and create a roadmap for your success.
