About Jake
Hey hey hey! My name is Jake and here is a little about me:
- I graduated from Carleton University in 2022 with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance with Honors. While at university I worked in Director positions at over five different clubs.
- I taught two classes in university: calculus and organizational behavior. I was successfully able to transition the classes to an interactive learning style :) - ask about this if you'd like!!
- I started my own business in university and successfully launched a company that helps local businesses throughout COVID-19.
- I am currently working for Procter & Gamble as an Account Executive.
- I personally enjoy hockey, the outdoors, coaching, and podcasts.
Resume aside, I truly have held a passion for teaching ever since I was in grade 5 - LOL I know what your thinking... who has dreams to be a teacher in grade 5!! So I'm filling this passion through tutoring :). Thanks for reading and I look forward to meeting you!!

Sessions are of course adaptable to the student and how they learn. Here are the steps I use when tutoring:
1. Get the student to do a personality test (this will show me how the student likes to learn. FYI: this personality test is not the end-all-be-all and teaching styles are adaptable).
2. Teaching lessons can consist of going over teaching new concepts, homework help, test review, etc. When working through a question, I break down the question into a three step process on how to (1) approach a problem (2) tackle a problem and (3) apply the problem to the real world.
3. After a complete understanding of the topic is found, we can move onto the next topic :).
Lessons should be for elementary or high school level students. Please reach out if your looking to get university level help and I will see if I can help you out!
