Hi, I'm a software professional working for New York State (NYS ITS) and a UAlbany Computer Science graduate (B.S., Magna Cum Laude). I specialize in tutoring high school and college students who want to build their confidence, master core programming concepts, and improve their course grades.

# High School & College Computer Science Tutoring (In-Person / Traveling)
Hi, I’m a local software developer looking to help high school and college students who are struggling with coding or trying to pull up their grades. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from UAlbany with a B.S. in Computer Science, and I currently work full-time for New York State (NYS ITS).

# Approach & Teaching Methodology
I focus entirely on breaking down complex programming concepts into normal language and building solid problem-solving habits. Coding can feel overwhelming when a teacher throws text-heavy slides at you, so I prefer a much more hands-on approach.
# Teaching Method & Techniques
* Mostly Coding, Less Talking: We usually spend about 15 or 20 minutes discussing how a concept works conceptually, and the rest of the hour is spent writing actual code and solving problems together.
* Learning How to Debug: Making mistakes is just part of programming. Instead of giving you the answers, I’ll teach you how to read error messages and logically track down bugs yourself so you can work independently.
* Working on Your Syllabus: We won't waste time on random topics. I align our lessons directly with your current school curriculum, upcoming assignments, and test dates.
# A Typical Lesson Plan
Our 60-minute sessions generally look like this:
1. Check-in (5–10 mins): We look over your homework from the week, fix any broken code you ran into, and do a quick warm-up problem.
2. New Concept (15 mins): We walk through a new topic—like loops, recursion, or arrays—using simple diagrams and real-world analogies rather than dense textbook definitions.
3. Guided Practice (25 mins): We open up the editor and write code together. I’ll start by helping with the logic, and then let you take over the keyboard to write out the solution.
4. Wrap-up & Test Prep (10 mins): We check how this concept will actually look on your next exam or AP quiz so you know exactly what to study before the next time we meet.
