About Paul
I studied mathematics for five years at BSU, the first four with an emphasis on secondary education. My final year I switched to emphasize computer science applications, and then worked as a computer programmer for many years, though I continued tutoring math part time. I then taught astronomy at Eastern Washington University, emphasizing the basic math operations in understanding the nature of our universe. Math and astronomy were the basic subjects for students in ancient Greece. Currently I'm writing a book on quantum mechanics and the origin of chemical elements, which includes math exercises.

I try to keep rote memorization to a minimum. Students should know the mathematical identities, the concept of functions, and some of the most critical formulas.
A typical lesson plan would first involve a review of basic information, a demonstration, exercises, and a preview of the next lesson plan.
I believe what sets any tutor apart is a love of the subject. Mathematics is a language of great precision, and Kurt Godel showed that it is infinitely extensible.
Students would range from middle school to college.
