About Eli
I’m a guitar tutor with over 9 years of experience and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Guitar Performance. My passion lies in helping students connect deeply with the expressive power of the blues. I specialize in slide guitar techniques, open tunings, and traditional fingerpicking approaches that bring soul and storytelling into every note. My lessons are always tailored to fit each student’s pace, interests, and goals. Whether you’re just picking up the guitar or pushing toward advanced techniques, I create a supportive space to grow. I’ve worked with students at all levels, including those aiming for authentic blues mastery. We explore regional blues styles like Delta, Chicago, and Piedmont, studying their roots and learning how to play them with feeling and accuracy. Technique is important, but so is developing your own voice and emotion on the instrument. I guide students through both classic songs and original improvisation. My teaching style is motivating, down-to-earth, and focused on steady progress. I believe that every player can find their sound with the right balance of guidance and freedom. My guitar teaching approach focuses on creative expression and technical mastery, especially for lead guitar playing. I guide students through soloing techniques, from scale fluency to phrasing that truly speaks. We dive deep into improvisation skills, learning how to build solos that are both expressive and musically strong.
Lessons cover lead essentials like blues and rock bends, vibrato, slides, and dynamic control. I also help students shape their tone and style to match their musical identity. Every session is hands-on and built around practical playing, not just theory.
I work especially well with The Jazz Explorer and The Teenage Rebel, helping them explore sound and discover their unique soloing voice. Together, we unlock personal style while sharpening skills that work across genres. I provide clear guidance, useful exercises, and space to experiment.
My method balances structure and creativity, so progress feels both steady and exciting. You’ll grow as a soloist with every riff and run. With time and effort, you’ll be shredding with confidence and making your solos truly yours.
