About Faruq

My name is Faruq, and I am originally from Nigeria but have lived in the UK for most of my life. I completed my GCSEs and A Levels in the UK, which allowed me to secure a place at dental school abroad in Georgia, where I am currently studying. Alongside my academic journey, I have gained over 3 years of experience as a tutor, helping students build confidence and achieve success in Maths. I am an easy-going, patient, and approachable person, and I take pride in creating a positive learning environment where students feel supported. Outside of tutoring, I have a passion for football and sports, and I enjoy bringing energy, motivation, and focus into my lessons. I am also passionate about education and mentoring, as I believe every student can succeed with the right guidance. I combine my academic background with strong communication skills to make learning both effective and enjoyable.

About the lesson

My tutoring style is very student focused and flexible. I believe that every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to match their pace, strengths, and areas that need extra support. I use a step by step approach when breaking down complex concepts into simple, manageable parts. This helps students not only solve problems but also understand the logic behind them. A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, which allows time for explanation, practice questions, and feedback. For younger learners or those needing shorter sessions, I can also provide 30–45 minute lessons. I hold GCSEs and A Levels in Maths and have over 3 years of tutoring experience. My background as a dental student means I’m highly skilled in applying maths to problem-solving and real-world contexts, which I often incorporate into lessons to make learning more relatable. My lessons are suitable for: • Primary school students trying to understand the basics in maths • GCSE students preparing for exams • Secondary school learners who want to strengthen their maths foundation • A Level support in Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry • Adult learners who wish to refresh their maths skills My aim is to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence, and achieving their goals.
