About Justin
I remember what it was like to first pick up a bass guitar, and I never forgot that feeling. Teaching takes patience, understanding, and devotion to those asking for your help. Patience is what I am all about. As someone who has worked in the substance abuse field as a counselor for 7 years, I treat everyone with the care and respect they deserve, and I will meet you at whatever level you are. There is no pressure to learn faster than someone else. I will meet you anywhere you are in your journey to learning the bass guitar, and we will base our lessons on exactly that. Teaching music is more than just giving you exercises, worksheets, and teaching you songs, it's about the rapport I build with you, the dynamic between teacher and student, building that trust and connection is how real progress is made. Nothing makes me happier than to see someone progress in their musical journey, and seeing the excitement on their face when they see that progression!

Music is a beautiful thing that should be experienced by everyone, it transcends age, gender, race and religion. It is a universal language that brings the world together and helps us all through whatever it is we are going through. That is my approach to teaching. It doesn't matter how old or young you are, it is never too early, or too late to learn. As my student, you can dictate how our lessons go based on what your area of interest is. Want to learn theory, read music, solo over chord changes like a jazz player? Let's do it. Just want to play your favorite songs casually and ignore all the theory stuff? We can do that too! The bottom line is playing music should be fun, and the sole purpose of learning an instrument is to enjoy it, and that's what I aim to do for you as my student!
