I approach each topic based on the student's unique learning style. The framework first includes having the student define their study goals. The second step focuses on identifying where the student struggles most and working from there with explanations and practice. In the third and final step, the student reflects on what they've learned and how they've worked towards their goals. Students are always encouraged to ask questions about anything. Creating a safe, judgment-free space is a high priority of mine.
I am a creative design student with an affinity for math and a passion for interdisciplinary learning. I spent one year as a TA helping 25 high schoolers with precalculus. Most recently I spent the summer of 2020 tutoring a 2nd and 4th grader in maths and reading. I have a lot of experience with young kids and am very easy-going and encouraging. I believe math should be fun and hope to give students a positive experience with it.
Ruby was a creative and patient tutor for my 9 and 6 year old. This was a lifesaver for helping with remote school and homework. Highly recommend!
Ruby is a hilarious drawer. Ruby says kind words about your drawings and is very engaging and fun to draw with. Ruby is very nice and a great teacher. -Will, 8 years old
