About Lizelle

Hello, my name is Lizelle, and I am a BCom-qualified Mathematics tutor with a patient, structured, and supportive teaching style. I have a strong numerical and analytical background, and I enjoy helping learners develop confidence and clarity in Mathematics. As a mother, I understand that many students need encouragement, reassurance, and clear explanations in order to succeed, especially in a subject that can feel intimidating.

I work mainly with primary school and high school learners, focusing on building strong foundations and improving problem-solving skills. My lessons are calm, well-organized, and adapted to each learner’s level and pace. I take time to explain concepts step by step and ensure that students understand the reasoning behind each method, not just how to apply a formula.

I am professional, reliable, and committed to helping my students grow in confidence and ability. My goal is to help learners approach Math with greater understanding, accuracy, and self-belief, and to support them in reaching their academic potential.

About the lesson

My approach to private Mathematics tutoring is structured, patient, and focused on building strong foundational understanding. I hold a Bachelor of Commerce degree, which has given me a solid analytical and numerical background that I bring into my teaching. As a mother, I understand that many learners need encouragement, reassurance, and clear explanations to develop confidence in Mathematics. I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through problems step by step.

What makes my teaching unique is my emphasis on understanding rather than rote learning. I break down mathematical concepts into manageable steps, explain the reasoning behind methods, and use guided practice to reinforce learning. This approach helps students improve problem-solving skills, accuracy, and long-term retention.

I am proficient in English and Afrikaans and am able to teach and explain concepts in both languages when needed, which can be particularly helpful for younger learners. A typical lesson includes revision of previous work, clear explanation of new concepts, worked examples, and time for independent practice with feedback and support.

My Mathematics lessons are aimed at primary school and high school learners who need help strengthening fundamentals, preparing for tests and exams, or improving confidence and performance. I also work with learners who feel anxious about Maths and benefit from a calm, patient, and nurturing teaching approach.
