About Ali

I provide personalised online tutoring focused on building a strong understanding of concepts, rather than relying solely on memorisation. This is particularly important for A-Level Biology and Chemistry, where students need to understand the reasoning behind concepts and apply their knowledge to unfamiliar questions.

I achieved 8 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 8s at GCSE, followed by A*AA at A-Level in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics. I now study Dentistry at Queen Mary University of London, and I use the study techniques that helped me succeed to support my students.

I begin with a 30-minute free taster session, allowing students to experience my teaching style and parents to see how I can support their child. I also offer a short introductory call with parents to understand the student’s needs and goals.

Following this, lessons are typically 1 hour long and tailored to the student’s current level, strengths and areas for improvement. I use explanations, worked examples, active questioning and exam-style questions to check understanding and develop application skills. I encourage students to explain concepts back to me, helping identify gaps in understanding and build confidence.

Parents are also kept involved through a group chat, where I provide updates on progress, areas covered and anything the student should work on between lessons. My aim is to create a supportive environment where students become more confident, independent and capable learners.
