About Avery

I am an experienced violin tutor with 7 years of teaching and performing experience, passionate about helping students develop technical mastery, musical creativity, and confidence.

I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners learning basic techniques to advanced learners preparing for recitals, competitions, and exams.

One of the proudest milestones in my career has been seeing students grow from uncertain beginners to confident performers capable of playing with skill, emotion, and expressive interpretation.

My teaching emphasizes building strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also encouraging creativity, musical expression, and interpretative performance.

I integrate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to provide a complete and well-rounded understanding of music.

Lessons are customized to each student’s pace, learning style, and goals, creating a supportive, patient, and inspiring environment. Teaching violin allows me to instill confidence, discipline, and a lifelong passion for music in every student.

About the lesson

I teach violin using a methodology grounded in motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to develop well-rounded musicians who are confident, expressive, and technically proficient.

Lessons are fully tailored to the student’s abilities, goals, and learning style, combining structured technical practice with creative exploration, improvisation, and performance preparation.

Motivation is central to my teaching. I guide students to set clear goals, track their progress, and celebrate milestones, fostering perseverance, self-confidence, and enthusiasm for learning. Students are encouraged to embrace challenges, enjoy the learning process, and recognize the value of consistent practice.

Communication ensures lessons are interactive, collaborative, and supportive. Students are encouraged to ask questions, share challenges, and explore ideas freely, fostering trust, engagement, and collaboration.

Creativity is integrated into every lesson. Improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises allow students to explore their artistic voice, develop emotional expression, and build a deep connection to music.

Integrity emphasizes disciplined, responsible practice, respect for learning, and long-term consistency, cultivating habits that ensure continued growth and success.

Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and introductory piano, providing students with a holistic foundation in musicianship for both academic and performance excellence.
