About Yajoo

I Am Yaju — Professional Flute Teacher

I am a professional musician and educator with over 15 years of experience. My training spans both Eastern and Western traditions—Hindustani Classical from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, and Jazz from Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory.

This unique combination gives me a powerful advantage as a teacher. I can explain concepts through two lenses: the emotional depth of ragas and the harmonic clarity of Western theory. Whether you struggle with rhythm, melody, or expression, I offer multiple approaches until one clicks for you.

I have performed my own compositions on national and international stages, sharing my voice with audiences around the world. These experiences enrich my teaching with real-world insight and creative inspiration.

I teach Bansuri, concert flute, and music theory. My students learn to play their favorite tunes and perform confidently. I speak Nepali and English. If you are eager to learn, I am here to guide you.

About the lesson

What can I teach you?

- PROPER BREATHING, BODY AND HANDS POSTURE, LIPS AND TONGUE POSITION
The concept of abdominal breathing and appropriate body posture including arms, back, head and fingers, coupled with lips and tongue positions

- MUSICAL NOTATION
Basic musical concepts and terms, reading and understanding music sheets

- PLAYING BY NOTE
Keep music count, maintain correct note value and pause during the play; independently learn new pieces from sheet music rather than just by ear

IMPROVISE IN VARIOUS STYLES
Mix your own personality into every musical piece you play and create your own playing style

- TRAIN MUSICAL EAR AND RHYTHM
Pick out musical tunes by ear, acquire more informed perception of a musical piece

- PLAY AND UNDERSTAND VARIOUS MUSICAL STYLES
Musical styles varying from jazz to rock as requested

- MICROPHONE-ASSISTED PERFORMANCE
Manage the sound with a microphone, properly use sound equipment for your performance

- FEEL THE MUSIC MOOD AND CONVEY IT DURING THE PLAY
