About Sarah

I have been playing the violin for 30 years. I completed Grade 1 - 8 with The Associated Board of Music on the violin. I did a Diploma with ABRSM in 2017 in which I received a Distinction. I have competed in many feises in Dublin, Newry and Belfast on the violin. I have been in a few orchestras and string quartets too. I was in the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland and I traveled to New York and Boston with them in 2005. I also traveled to Helsinki in 2000 with the orchestra too. I got the opportunity in 2025 to perform for the Minister for Children, Equality and Disabilities. I have started playing some traditional Irish music on the violin. I want to show how amazing it is to learn a musical instrument. I want to pass on my passion for music to younger people. I have plenty of patience and understanding. I sat Grade 7 on the piano with RIAM in November 2024. I received a high Honours for the exam. I am working on sitting Grade 8 on the piano by March 2026.

About the lesson

I can teach beginners and advanced students in classical music. We can do exams and feises or we can learn for fun. I can teach RIAM and ABRSM examination boards. With beginners, I will teach them about how to hold a violin and a bow. We will learn how to read music and about rhythm. I can teach beginners in traditional Irish music also. We can do exams and feises or we can learn for fun. I teach music theory also with examination boards RIAM and ABRSM.
