About LeGette

As Manager of a small community music store, I encounter beginning players every day. I hear that they are frustrated because many teachers treat every player as if they aspire to be professional musicians. The truth is that most of us just want to play for fun as a hobby. I promise to have my students cleanly strumming a few chords within a few weeks. A few weeks after that you can use those chords to stitch together a song. By the end of a year you will be able to sit around with friends and play several songs with intermediate proficiency. You may even be ready to then start learning on your own or move on to a teacher that can take you to the next level. Or, you can continue learning more songs with me.

About the lesson

Many beginning guitar students quit out of frustration! I know, because I did it several times myself before finding the teacher that was right for me. Most folks want to get to playing some songs. They are not interested in theory or learning notes by picking out "Twinkle little Star." This is especially true of adult learners. If you want to be strumming chords and playing songs around the campfire in less than a year, then I am the right teacher for you!

Details

Travel time is free with in Charlotte city limits. I will travel anywhere in Mecklenburg County for a $10 per lesson fee. $25 per lesson fee to Marvin, Waxhaw, and Indian Trail area.

The free thirty minute lesson is actually to make sure that I am a good fit for you or your child. I will also evaluate the guitar you have for suitability and/or recommend an appropriate guitar within your budget. I can bring a spare guitar for the free lesson to help familiarize you with the instrument.
