About Paula
I am a committed Guitar tutor with over 8 years of experience teaching college students. I believe guitar learning should be practical, enjoyable, and motivating. My aim is to help students develop strong skills while enjoying the music they play.
My teaching style is flexible and student-friendly. I understand that every student has different goals, learning speeds, and music interests. I carefully adjust my lessons to match each student’s needs. This helps students feel comfortable and confident during learning.
I use innovative teaching methods such as song-based lessons, guided practice routines, and technique-focused exercises. Students learn real songs while understanding how chords, scales, and rhythm work together. I also use backing tracks and play-along exercises to improve timing and confidence.
In my classes, I focus on clear basics like chord shapes, smooth transitions, strumming patterns, fingerstyle techniques, and rhythm control. I introduce music theory in a simple and practical way so students can apply it directly on the guitar.
I also encourage creativity through improvisation and simple composition activities. This helps students develop their own musical voice. I create a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel motivated to practise and grow as confident guitar players.

My Guitar teaching approach is rooted in creativity, mentorship, critical thinking, and accountability. I focus on helping students develop their unique musical voice while strengthening their technical skills. Lessons include improvisation, songwriting, and exploring different genres to make learning interactive and fun.
Critical thinking is essential. I teach students to analyse music, understand patterns, and make informed decisions while playing or composing. This ensures they not only learn songs but also understand the logic behind them.
Accountability is central to my method. I help students set achievable goals, practise effectively, and track their progress. Constructive feedback and celebration of small milestones keep students motivated.
Beyond Guitar, I teach music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, and performance techniques. My lessons are tailored to each student’s needs, combining structure with creativity for a fulfilling learning experience.
I aim to mentor students into becoming independent, confident musicians who enjoy expressing themselves through music.
