About Ryan
I’ve been an orchestral violinist for 10 years, playing in solo recitals, regional orchestras, and classical music festivals, earning numerous distinctions and honors throughout my career. I began learning when I was 8 years old through the Suzuki method where I learned basic mechanics, and I argue the fundamental principles of violin look different in each player-the only incorrect techniques are those that cannot change with the player. I’ve taken countless violin lessons with several different teachers and continue searching for ways to improve my understanding of violin and of myself.

If you have pieces you are interested in learning, we can begin at that point! I praise my students for their interests in pieces! We will dissect what each piece of interest requires and discuss how to practice.
For beginner and intermediate players, I emphasize technique above all else. Lessons for these students will include discussion of right and left hand mechanics, posture, and etudes aimed to create strong habits for all manner of violin playing.
