About James
C'est moi James! I'm a tutor based in Portland, Maine with a background in Cartography. My passion for French grew through my travels throughout Quebec and my Quebecois heritage. I have reached a level of confidence in French through classes in university, diligent study, and lots of trips to Quebec. I'm working every day toward full fluency so I can tutor students of all levels. I understand the challenges English speakers face when learning French and enjoy helping beginners build confidence in a supportive, relaxed environment.

We'll learn useful everyday vocabulary, common expressions, pronunciation, and simple conversation in a relaxed, low-pressure environment. The goal is to build confidence and get you comfortably communicating in French from day one and to help find you the best resources for your language learning journey!
