About Phil

Hi, I’m Phil — a UK-born singer and guitarist now based in Sydney. I’m a full-time working musician, performing regularly and teaching guitar to people who have always wanted to play but weren’t sure where to start.

I started teaching because I saw how many people thought guitar was “too hard” or felt discouraged by complicated theory and online tutorials. I love helping beginners realize they’re far more capable than they think, and showing them how quickly they can start making real music.

My teaching style is relaxed, patient, and encouraging. I focus on creating a comfortable environment where people feel confident to try, make mistakes, and enjoy the process. Whether you’re picking up a guitar for the first time or returning after a long break, I aim to make learning feel simple, motivating, and genuinely fun.

About the lesson

My guitar lessons are designed for complete beginners and early-stage players who want to start playing real songs, not get buried in confusing theory.

I focus on a simple, song-based approach. From the very first lesson, we work on real music you enjoy, building practical skills like chords, strumming, rhythm, and confidence. Rather than following a rigid syllabus, lessons are fully personalised around your goals and musical taste.

Lessons are usually 60 minutes and can be taken in person in Sydney or online. I’m a full-time working musician with years of live performance experience, and I specialise in helping beginners feel comfortable, motivated, and capable from day one.

Whether your goal is to sing along, play for fun, or finally bring that guitar in the corner to life, my lessons are relaxed, encouraging, and focused on real progress.

Absolute beginners are always welcome.
