About Zach
Hi!
My name is Zach. I'm a part-time caregiver and a part-time Classics/Linguistics tutor. I have a double major in Classics and Celtic Civilisation with a focus on linguistics and socio-linguistics,and have been studying Latin in particular for over 20 years.
I've been tutoring for about 3 years, and love working with students from all backgrounds.I'm happy to work on anything from Classical history and Medieval Irish Law, to historical and socio-linguistics, to in depth interpretive readings of Latin texts.
I hope I can show you the fun sides of these subjects!

About the lesson

English
- For beginner's Latin, I teach a curriculum in conjunction with Wheelock's Latin
- For beginner's Greek, I use Reading Greek
- After one month, we will do a review lesson and an open-book quiz (or closed-book if you want a challenge!)
- Every week or biweekly, we'll set a learning goal together to keep us focused, but allow for fun!
- I will assign homework that you can self-correct to make sure we're on the right track
- I use your interests in combination with my curriculum so you can get the most out of your lessons and stay engaged
- For Socio- or Historical Linguistics, we'll start with Guy Deuster's Unfolding of language, then move to more specific texts/taped lessons based on the subject that interests you
- I offer repeat customer discounts, which also allows us to schedule lessons in advance
-My tutees have been beginners, advanced students, and people of all ages. I'm happy to work with children struggling in class, but there may be a surcharge if the curriculum has to change
