About Rory

Hello! I’m Rory and I’ve been playing tennis on and off for most of my life. I captain 2 teams at my club and am very passionate about the sport. I was also a keen footballer from an early age and have since coached casual teams in England as well as a summer school in Argentina. I have been a regular gym goer for about 10 years and have also played rugby, golf, cricket, volleyball and hockey. So all round very sporty!

About the lesson

My sessions are all about you. No generic AI created sessions! No "one template for all". So every session will be personalised for skill levels and specific focus points. I will also adapt the overall tone of the session from people that want to be serious and challenged to those that want it to be fun and friendly. I believe that mindset and confidence are equally important as the physical side of sport and we can delve into this. I am happy to cover Oxfordshire and Cheltenham/Gloucestershire areas. Please note I have my LTA Level One Coaching badge but am not yet a full Level 3 coach, hence I exclusively do sessions for beginners.

I have worked with Rory in a women's football club called South London WFC for about a year. At the time, I was the head coach for the club and Rory came in to help with training and match management as he was recovering from a playing injury.

His enthusiasm was felt immediately. Respectful, dedicated, resourceful, friendly and full of energy, he immediately made an impact after joining. This was the case during training and matches, but also outside of the main role as he joined club meetings, and frequently proposed initiatives to move the club forward.

I can envision Rory being a great tutor for young people and adults alike, due to his energetic and friendly style of communication. Everyone felt energised by Rory in our club when he delivered training drills or spoke to players directly on one-on-one coaching moments on the sidelines.

It was great having Rory in the club and hopefully his new endeavour brings him as much happiness as it brought SLWFC having him with us.
