Hi there! I'm Mai. With over 600 successful lessons on Preply and 10+ years in children's education, I specialize in making Japanese fun, intuitive, and highly engaging for both kids and adults! Whether you are planning a trip to Japan, preparing your child for a bilingual future, or starting from zero, my lessons are tailored just for you. No worries if you’re starting from scratch! I offer beginner-friendly Japanese lessons, helping you master the language step by step. Right now, I live in Mexico, but I’m originally from Shizuoka. Shizuoka is famous for its delicious fresh tea️, mandarins, sakura shrimp, and shirasu fish. Plus, we have Mount Fuji, which attracts many tourists. I’ve climbed Mount Fuji four times! I love cooking (りょうり) and traveling (りょこう). So far, I’ve visited over 45 countries. I’m passionate about Japanese culture and history, especially visiting Japanese castles.

I use Genki book and workbook, video and App to learn Hiragana and Katakana, Kanji. Since 2018, I’ve been teaching students from beginner to intermediate levels and helping them prepare for the JLPT. I really enjoy teaching and getting to know each student personally. My lessons are dynamic and student-centered, personalized to your needs and interests. By learning with me, you’ll be able to enjoy conversations in Japanese with confidence and better understand Japanese culture and music.
