About Toprak

I have had exposure to many aspects of Computer Science, working at the lowest (machine code, assembly) and highest (machine learning, neural networks) levels of abstraction. This has given me a great appreciation for how each topic relates to another, and has given me strong foundational knowledge that I would like to give to you!

We will start by establishing the gaps in your knowledge: - You can tell me which topics you need help with and we will work to get you up to speed - If you're not sure what you need help with, we will go through your specification (or your learning objectives if you're an undergraduate) and identify the topics we need to tackle Once we have identified your weak topics, we will go through them with explanations and (where appropriate) diagrams, presentations, and demonstrations to give you a fundamental understanding of the topic, in addition to how it relates to Computer Science in general.

We will focus on ensuring your fundamentals are strong, so that you are better equipped to tackle new topics in the future :)

In addition to tutoring, I am also able to provide help with the following programming languages as I have experience working with them:
*** - C - Assembly Language *** - commonly requested
- Java - C# - C++
- Python - MATLAB
- HTML - CSS - JavaScript
- Prolog - Haskell

  • Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

The first computer that I used was my old Atari, or PS1. I've always been amazed at what can be done with (what is fundamentally) very simple processing. Since then, I have been curious to understand what makes these technologies possible.
  • What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?

I think it is undoubtable that the Stable Diffusion and GPT-3 systems have completely changed everyone's perception of AI and opened the door for so many possibilities.
  • Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.

I have always been interested in projects that bring Computer Scientists and Electronics Engineers together, I think these are the ones that have the biggest impact on our lives.
  • Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?

The common thing among most visionaries is that they have a never-ending curiosity, hence they never stop learning and improving.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

During university, I was struggling particularly hard to understand the content of one module. Despite watching the lectures several times, I was not able to move forward. I then started to search for different explanations of this topic online, watched lectures published by other universities & independent creators, and was able to fully understand everything. This made me appreciate sometimes it is the teacher, not the student :)
  • What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?

Most unfamiliar things are complicated. In reality, UX designers work hard to ensure IT systems are as intuitive as possible. To do this, however, they must assume some baseline level of familiarity, e.g. that users know what a search bar is and where to expect it, so that users can transfer their knowledge across different systems. This baseline familiarity can only be obtained through practice.
  • What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?

I try my best to keep up with the rapid advancements in AI research, especially after more systems have started to become publicly accessible. Additionally, I am an avid kart racer!
  • What makes you a Superprof in IT?

I have had exposure to many aspects of Computer Science, working at the lowest (machine code, assembly) and highest (machine learning, neural networks) levels of abstraction. This has given me a great appreciation for how each topic relates to another, and has given me strong foundational knowledge that I would like to give to you! Since joining Superprof, I have helped many students clear their doubts and strengthen their fundamental knowledge
