About Anju
I am a rising sophomore at UC Berkeley in California, my hometown being Richmond, VA. I am a Molecular and Cell Biology major and Data Science minor on the pre-medical track. I have a passion for science that runs very deep-- I have conducted my own research projects that have won awards at the state level, and I am continuing my passion for biomedical research at Berkeley. I have also won awards at my high school for my leadership and passion in science. At Berkeley, I currently have a 4.0 GPA and have earned A's or A+'s in all my AP subjects in high school. I have also earned mostly all 5's (two 4's) on all my AP exams.
More than just my statistics, I absolutely love spreading my enthusiasm towards STEM to others, and I am always happy to serve as both a mentor and a tutor.

I always try to get to know students and their learning style(s) during our first lesson, as tutoring should always be personalized to the student in a one-on-one setting. I make sure to focus on what the student struggles with, whether that is a specific type of problem/question or an abstract concept altogether. I emphasize learning to approach problems using multiple methods or thought processes in order to understand the topic on a deeper level. And for mathematics, I emphasize a no-calculator policy unless it is absolutely required so students can truly understand the concepts.
I can make my own questions for mathematics subjects, but in general I ask students to bring their own materials so I can strengthen methods and approaches that are taught in class.
I teach high school students in mathematics levels up to pre-calculus (including trigonometry), AP/general chemistry, AP/general biology, SAT mathematics, and essay writing. Please inquire about any topics I haven't mentioned above. Thank you!
