About Daniel

Hello, my name is Daniel and I am a recent graduate of UC Berkeley (Class of 2023) with a B.A. in Physics and Astrophysics. I have been tutoring people in math since 2017 and have experience working at Mathnasium of South Pasadena. As of now, I teach a private AP Physics 1 class along with private tutoring while I do research here at Berkeley. 34 on the ACT, 35 on Math portion (99th percentile) 800 on Math SAT 2 and Physics exams 5's on AP Calculus BC and AP Physics C exams Math - AP Calculus AB/BC - Precalculus - Trigonometry - Algebra 2 - Algebra 1 - Math 1, 2, 3 Physics - AP Physics 1/2 - AP Physics C UC Berkeley courses - Physics 8A/7A - Physics 8B/7B and more courses, ask for details. Locations I offer tutoring through zoom and in-person around the Berkeley and Oakland area. This can be at the library, cafe, UC Berkeley campus or at home. Rates For online tutoring I charge $200/hour and I offer discounts for group tutoring. For in-person tutoring I charge $225/hour, although the rate may vary depending on how far away from UC Berkeley the location is. There is a 50% cancellation fee for sessions canceled less than 24 hours before.

About the lesson

I like to teach to help understand concepts instead of memorizing the formulas. Emphasis on learning rather than doing it quick. Homework can be given to help reinforce material learned from previous session on request. Available for all math classes up to AP Calc BC, Multivariable, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations and any AP Physics (Ask for details for tutoring on UC Berkeley Physics classes).

Perfect! Daniel is a hardworking tutor who goes above and beyond in order to help his students succeed. His knowledge and passion for physics and mathematics is clear in the way he is able to explain not only how to solve difficult problems, but how to understand conceptually why we use certain equations or variables. He also occasionally stays longer than the scheduled tutoring session to help students finish their homework or to make sure that the student completely understands the concepts before he leaves. Afterwards, he consistently sends any notes covered during the tutoring session as well as links to helpful resources or videos. Overall, he is a very professional tutor who is always on time for sessions and great with communication. Highly recommend!
