About Omar

Hi, I'm Omar — a Master's student in Information and Data Science at UC Berkeley, currently I am a graduate researcher studying climate change in the Arctic.

I started tutoring because I remember exactly what it felt like to be a beginner — overwhelmed, unsure where to start, and looking for someone who could explain things clearly without making you feel lost. That's the experience I bring to every session.

My background gives me a unique edge as a tutor. I'm not teaching from a textbook — I've built and applied Python skills in professional tech environments and am currently deepening that knowledge at one of the top data science programs in the world.

My goal is simple: to make you feel confident and capable with Python, one step at a time.

About the lesson

My approach

I'm a Master's student in Information and Data Science at UC Berkeley with hands-on experience working in the tech industry. I know what it actually takes to go from zero coding knowledge to writing Python that works in the real world — and I teach with that path in mind.

My lessons are built around step-by-step fundamentals. No jumping ahead, no assuming prior knowledge. I break down every concept clearly before moving to the next, so you always know why you're learning something, not just how to do it.

A typical lesson

Each session starts with a quick recap of what we covered before, then introduces one focused concept with a clear explanation. We work through it together with examples, then you try it yourself while I guide you in real time. We finish with a summary and a small task to reinforce it before our next session.
