About Lin
With 8 years of teaching and performing experience, I am an experienced violin tutor committed to helping students achieve technical mastery, artistic expression, and personal growth.
I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners exploring foundational techniques to advanced learners preparing for recitals, competitions, and exams.
One of the most fulfilling milestones of my career has been guiding students from struggling with technique, posture, or rhythm to performers capable of playing with skill, emotion, and expressive interpretation.
My teaching emphasises building strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also fostering creativity, musical interpretation, and expressive performance.
I incorporate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to ensure students gain a comprehensive understanding of music.
Lessons are personalised to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style, creating a patient, supportive, and inspiring environment where students are encouraged to explore, express themselves, and reach their full potential. Teaching violin allows me to cultivate confidence, discipline, and a lifelong passion for music.

I teach violin using a methodology grounded in motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to cultivate musicians who are technically skilled, expressive, and confident.
Lessons are personalised for each student, combining structured technical exercises with creative exploration, improvisation, and performance practice.
Motivation drives learning. I work with students to set meaningful goals, monitor their progress, and celebrate milestones. This develops perseverance, self-confidence, and a love for music, encouraging students to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth.
Communication ensures lessons are interactive, collaborative, and supportive. Students are encouraged to ask questions, share challenges, and discuss ideas openly, creating a productive and trusting environment.
Creativity is woven into every lesson. Improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises help students explore their artistic voice and build a strong emotional connection to music.
