About Maryline

Hello! I’m Maryline, a curious, passionate and people-oriented person who genuinely enjoys learning and sharing knowledge with others.

My academic journey in Politics, Human Rights and International Relations has taught me to look at the world from different perspectives, communicate ideas clearly and, most importantly, remain curious. Alongside my studies, I had the opportunity to live and study in different environments, including an Erasmus exchange in Italy and an experience as an English Language Assistant in France. These experiences strengthened my love for languages and showed me how powerful communication can be in connecting people from different backgrounds.

I want to teach because I know that having the right person explain something in a way that suits you can completely change the way you approach learning. I have always enjoyed helping others understand difficult concepts, improve their writing and become more confident in expressing themselves.

For me, tutoring is not simply about completing exercises or memorising information. It is about helping students discover what they are capable of, giving them the confidence to ask questions and creating a space where making mistakes is part of learning.

Whether you are learning a language, preparing for an exam or simply trying to become more confident in your academic work, I would love to help you along the way.

I look forward to meeting you and making learning something you can feel confident and excited about!

My Tutoring Approach

My approach is centred on making learning personal, practical and confidence-building. I believe that students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and actively participating in the lesson.

Rather than using a one-size-fits-all method, I adapt each lesson to the student's level, age, learning style, objectives and pace. Whether you are starting from scratch, preparing for an exam, improving your conversation skills or looking to strengthen your academic writing, we will focus on the areas where you need the most support.

My Methodology

Lessons are interactive and structured around a combination of explanation, guided practice and independent application. Depending on your goals, we may work on:

• Grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation
• Reading and listening comprehension
• Speaking and conversation
• Written expression and essay structure
• Exercises and practical activities
• Exam preparation and revision
• Academic writing and research skills
• Presentations and oral communication

For language lessons, I place particular importance on using the language actively, rather than simply memorising rules. I encourage students to speak, ask questions and apply what they learn through realistic situations.

For academic support, my aim is not simply to give you the answers. I help you understand the material, develop your own arguments, organise your ideas and become a more independent learner.

Qualifications & Experience

I hold a BA (Hons) in Politics, Human Rights and International Relations from the University of Mauritius. My academic background has developed my skills in research, essay writing, critical thinking, communication and presentation.

I also have experience as an English Language Assistant in France, where I supported students in developing their English language and communication skills.

I am comfortable teaching in French and English, and I can also provide support in Hindi where appropriate. I am particularly interested in helping students develop both their language abilities and their confidence.

Who Are My Lessons For?

My online lessons are suitable for:

• Children and teenagers who need support with French or English
• Secondary school students preparing for exams or improving their grades
• University students who need support with academic writing, essays, presentations or subjects such as Politics, International Relations and Human Rights
• Adults who want to improve their French or English for personal, academic or professional reasons
• Beginners to advanced learners, depending on the subject and learning objectives

I am happy to work with students who need regular weekly support as well as those who need short-term preparation for a particular exam, assignment or goal.

Lesson Length

Lessons are conducted 100% online and are generally 60 minutes, which provides enough time to explain concepts, practise and receive feedback without becoming overwhelming.

For younger learners or students who prefer shorter sessions, 30–45 minute lessons can also be arranged. Longer sessions can be considered for university-level academic support or intensive exam preparation.

My goal is for every student to finish a lesson feeling that they have learned something useful, understood something that previously seemed difficult, and made real progress towards their goal.
