About Paulina

I take my work seriously and show up prepared, organized, and respectful of each student’s time. My background in healthcare and client service has taught me the importance of clear communication, reliability, and professionalism, especially when working with people who may feel unsure or overwhelmed.

I’m patient, attentive, and consistent in my approach, and I make it a priority to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel supported and respected. I come to each lesson prepared, follow through on what I promise, and adapt to each student’s needs while maintaining clear structure and boundaries.

Students can expect thoughtful lessons, clear communication, and a calm, professional experience focused on steady progress and confidence-building.

My approach as an ESL tutor is pretty practical and conversational. I focus on helping students use English comfortably in real-life situations rather than memorizing grammar rules that don’t always translate to everyday conversation. I pay close attention to how each student communicates and adjust my approach based on their level, goals, and confidence.

I rely a lot on conversation, repetition, and clear examples. If something doesn’t click right away, I explain it differently or use a real-world situation to make it more understandable. I try to keep lessons relaxed and supportive, because people learn better when they don’t feel rushed or judged.

I speak Spanish, which helps me better understand where Spanish-speaking students may get stuck or feel unsure. While lessons are primarily in English, I can clarify concepts when needed in a way that feels supportive rather than frustrating.

A typical lesson usually starts with some light conversation to help the student feel comfortable and to get a sense of where they’re at that day. From there, we focus on a specific topic or situation, such as everyday conversations, work-related English, phone calls, appointments, or common phrases used in daily life.

Lessons often include:
Guided conversation and listening practice
Vocabulary and phrases used in real situations
Gentle correction and explanation while speaking
Short practice exercises based on the student’s needs
I keep lessons flexible and adjust the pace as needed so they feel helpful, not overwhelming.

What sets me apart is my background in healthcare and client service, where clear communication, patience, and empathy are essential. I’m very used to explaining things simply, repeating information when needed, and helping people feel at ease when they’re confused or stressed.

I also bring a calm, supportive approach and provide structured materials like worksheets and pocket guides so students feel supported both during and after the lesson. These materials are meant to be easy to use and practical, giving students something they can quickly reference between lessons without feeling overwhelmed or pressured.

My lessons are a good fit for:
Adults and young adults
Beginner to intermediate English learners
Students who want to improve conversational and practical English
Learners who want a calm, supportive environment to build confidence
I’m especially helpful for students who feel nervous speaking English and want to practice without pressure.
