About Abby
I am a 22-year-old female from Rochester, New York who is currently living in South America in a small coastal town in Chile called Arica. I translate English to Spanish and Spanish to English for medical offices and businesses here. I graduated with a 4.0 from Emory University located in Atlanta, GA. I majored in Spanish and Public Health. I am on my way to becoming a bilingual nurse hoping to work in underprivileged communities serving primarily the Spanish-speaking population. In 2018, I taught English and guitar to children in an elementary school in Chile for the year. I am passionate about helping others learn Spanish and realize the endless opportunities speaking another language can bring you.

I teach using practice and repeat methods. With a new language, you are building completely new and foreign pathways in your brain which takes lots of repetition to create. I also encourage continuous speaking and full immersion in the language through books, movies, music, and conversations with natives. This is how one will truly come to understand and appreciate the language fully.
