About Laura
I am a working professional with a love for education and mentorship. In addition to being a professional writer, I currently work alongside the Leadership Minor at the University of Minnesota mentoring students. I have previous taught college courses in the Leadership Minor. In combination with experience teaching and mentoring adult students, I also am certified in teaching English as a Foreign Language. I worked as a kindergarten and middle school teacher in Seoul, South Korea focusing not only on English language development but also working with students on test preparation and healthy coping mechanisms. I am a University of Minnesota alumni and have my bachelors degree in Speech pathology, meaning I have knowledge and experience working with children who have learning and developmental delays and disabilities.

I believe that students are most motivated to learn and succeed when they feel heard, supported, and when their learning style is taken into consideration. I believe in making content fun and personal, so that it becomes engrained and applicable to their lives. I believe no two students are the same, and that all students have potential for greatness when given time, support, and encouragement.
