About June
As an immigrant, I understand the difficulties of getting a visa and permanent residency for Canada. I understand the pressure of excelling in these language tests to obtain the "points" necessary to qualify for a visa/PR application. When I studied for the IELTS and CELPIP test, I practised conversing with my partner and getting his feedback on my sentence structure and grammar. My overall score for IELTS was 8.0. My scores for my CELPIP test were: Listening - 11, Reading - 12, Writing - 10, Speaking - 9.
I have Canadian high school and university experience and have taken the IELTS for academic purposes and the CELPIP test for my permanent residency application.
I am a mechanical engineer by training and I have recently obtained my certification in project management. I have tutoring experience in Math, English and Science subjects.

I believe that language skills can be improved majorly through conversations and reading. I was encouraged by my parents to read a lot as a child, and I noticed how much I was able to improve my writing skills and vocabulary. I will engage students in conversations and provide reading materials so that we can analyse and understand words and sentences that may be difficult to comprehend. For students planning to take either the IELTS or CELPIP exam, I will go through the exam format and questions with them.
I also understand that every learner has a different way of learning and I will always listen to my students to learn what works best for them.
