About Lana

Both French and English have been at the center of my life and education, from my bicultural home and childhood in Manhattan to the American Section of the Lycée International of Saint-Germain-en-Laye to Law school in Paris and New York, where I completed a dual Masters in French Civil Law and Common Law and an LL.M. in Comparative Law. Theses? Personal essays? Research papers? You name them, I wrote them! The mandatory TOEFL test? I passed it with flying colors! What makes me a special teacher? My versatile background: - Law in Manhattan, London and Paris; - International Relations in Geneva and Rome; - Acting, improvisation and cinematography in New York and Paris. Degrees, classes and experiences in these various domains have given me: - great adaptability and the ability teach all age groups and profiles; - a true understanding of different accents and the manner to teach correct pronunciation, voice and rhythm; - a rational mind and methodology helpful to read, write and communicate in academic and professional settings; - the ease to translate and explain in both English and French - a huge time saver!

About the lesson

Each class is tailored to meet your needs and your goals. My methodology is therefore adapted to your individual objectives and the best way to teach you, personally. We will establish those together during your first FREE online class. In order to move forward and evaluate your progress: => During the class, I correct you as much as necessary (rather than nod politely). => After the class: I transfer you a list of the mistakes you've made, ways to improve, and pronunciation techniques when necessary. I can help you: - Learn English from the ground up, no matter your age or level; - Improve your English speaking, reading and writing (vocabulary, methodology, American pronunciation) for professional, academic and social settings; - Prepare for written and oral English proficiency tests, exams, essays, interviews, presentations (methodology, public speaking); - Write cover letters, blogs, creative writing pieces; - Prepare for your trips or studies abroad (communicating, adapting, culture); - Translate English to French and French to English. Our work together will be efficient, productive and serious, but made fun and enjoyable because of my general flexibility and deep passion for the English language and culture. I look forward to helping you achieve your American dream!
