About Diane

I am a friendly, patient, and reliable tutor who is passionate about helping students achieve their language goals. As a native Korean speaker fluent in English, I understand the challenges of learning a second language and explain concepts clearly and at the learner’s pace. My experience as a teacher’s assistant and youth leader has helped me develop strong communication skills, responsibility, and a supportive teaching style. I prepare thoroughly for each lesson and tailor my approach to the individual needs of every student, whether they are learning for travel, school, exams, or personal interest. Students can expect a positive, encouraging learning environment where mistakes are treated as part of the learning process and progress is closely supported. I am currently studying for a Bachelor of Pharmacy at the University of Otago, which has strengthened my organization, attention to detail, and professionalism. I am committed to being well-prepared, punctual, and respectful, and I aim to make every lesson engaging, structured, and confidence-building for my students.

About the lesson

I teach Korean in a structured but friendly way, focusing on real communication and confidence. My lessons combine speaking, listening, reading, and writing, with plenty of conversation practice so students can use Korean naturally in everyday situations.

I adapt my teaching style to each learner – visual materials, role-plays, vocabulary games, and pronunciation practice are included depending on the student’s goals.

A typical lesson is 60 minutes, but I can also offer 45-minute or 90-minute sessions depending on age and concentration level. I give homework on request and provide personalised notes and practice activities after each lesson.

I am a native Korean speaker, fluent in English, and currently a Bachelor of Pharmacy student at the University of Otago. I have experience supporting students through my work as a teacher’s assistant and youth leader, which has strengthened my communication skills, patience, and ability to explain clearly.

My lessons are suitable for:
- complete beginners to advanced learners
- children, teenagers, and adults
- conversational Korean, travel Korean, or cultural interest

Whether your goal is conversation, grammar, or improving pronunciation, I will support you step-by-step in a positive and encouraging environment.
