About Jia yi
Hello! My name is Jia Yi, but most people call me Gia here in Australia. I am from Singapore, and has recently obtained my Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Australia.
I have always been interested in learning cultures, history, languages as it helps to widen my perspective of the world and connect to people of different backgrounds easily.
Since the start of Covid, I have been learning Spanish as a hobby for about 4 years now and I am currently learning Japanese. My experiences in language acquisition have provided me with insights into the challenges inherent in learning a new language. However, I firmly believe that consistent effort and a proactive approach enable individuals to overcome these obstacles and achieve fluency.
你好！我的名字叫家宜，我来自新加坡。我读的是护理专科，刚从澳洲大学毕业。一直以来我对文化，语文，历史都特别感兴趣因为这些知识能让我用另一种方式去看看世界，改变我的世界观和跟来自不同背景的人交流。
新冠病毒的期间，我学了四年的西班牙语而且现在也在努力的学习日语。以我作为学生的经验，我了解学生们对于新的语言的种种苦难，也坚信努力不负有心人，只要积极向上一定能够克服困难，取得想要的成绩，华语也会变的更厉害。

- I conduct my lessons using a range of materials such as powerpoint slides, online notes and videos. You will learn how to read basic Chinese hanyupinyin, write simplified Chinese words and converse in Chinese. I do like sharing some cultural knowledge during lessons as well.
- 1 hour per lesson.
- Growing up in an Asian family, I have taught my younger cousins Chinese as I always excelled Chinese in school. As a Singaporean Chinese, I grew up learning Chinese all the way through high school.
