Methodology
I work with learners with diverse needs, so we work together to identify how they learn best and use strategies to break down language structures or problems for them to understand best. I believe in immersion early on, so I will facilitate conversation at the level of my student, and support their comprehension with visuals to help them get used to listening and using Spanish with a patient, non-judgmental listener.
Background
I am a bilingual Spanish/English school-based speech-language pathologist. I have been working in the schools for over 4 years with a wide range of students including English language learners and students with special needs. In addition to my work as an SLP I have tutored students of all ages in Spanish as well as other subject areas (e.g. math, reading, writing, and science).
