About Briggs
About Me
Hi! I'm a fluent English and Spanish speaker, and I'm passionate about helping others discover how enjoyable and useful learning Spanish can be.
My Spanish journey was a little different from the traditional classroom experience. I learned the fundamentals through grammar lessons, but most of my Spanish came from actually using it—reading, listening, and, most importantly, speaking with Spanish speakers.
I lived in Bolivia for several years, where I had the opportunity to use Spanish every day and experience the language and culture firsthand. I also spent time living near the Mexico–Arizona border, which gave me even more exposure to different Spanish-speaking communities and ways of speaking.
Because of my own experience learning Spanish, I understand how different it feels to study Spanish versus actually being able to use it in a conversation.
That's what I want to help my students develop.
Whether you're starting from scratch, taking Spanish in school, preparing for a trip, or simply want to become more comfortable speaking, I'll tailor our lessons to your goals and level.
My approach is practical and conversational. We'll work on the grammar and vocabulary you need, but we'll also spend plenty of time reading, speaking, listening, and having real conversations.
My goal is simple:
I don't just want you to know Spanish. I want you to feel comfortable using it.
