About Markus
I take a disciplined, results-driven approach to everything I do — the same mindset that's helped me balance competitive varsity athletics with strong academic performance in math and science. For the last two summers, I worked as a student lab assistant at a Montreal hospital research lab, assisting graduate students with experiments, cell counting, data analysis, and even learning to operate a bio-3D printer — experience that's given me a real, applied understanding of the STEM subjects I tutor, not just textbook knowledge. I'm dependable, energetic, and genuinely enjoy working with others, whether that's teammates, colleagues in a lab, or a student I'm helping succeed. I show up prepared, communicate clearly, and I'm focused on real, lasting improvement for every student I work with — not just getting through the material.

My approach is patient and student-led — I start each session by identifying exactly where a student is stuck, then build from concepts they already understand rather than just running through worksheets. A typical lesson opens with a quick review of recent material, moves into working through problems together step-by-step, and ends with a few practice questions done independently so I can check real understanding before we finish. I'm bilingual in English and French, so I can teach comfortably in either language, and I bring experience working with kids from babysitting alongside strong academic grounding in math, physics, chemistry, and general STEM subjects. My lessons are best suited for elementary and middle/high school students who want steady, structured support — whether that's keeping up with current coursework, catching up after falling behind, or building confidence before a tough unit or exam. Sessions run in-person or online depending on what works best for the family.
